URUGUAY

This entire trip was provided by DUVINE Cycling and Adventure Company and they did a great job and our guides were Thomas and Nicholas.

This is the overview and sub categories are to the left for various spots Our Trip to Uruguay started in Buenos Aires, Argentina and that town is amazing. Please go to Argentina for that Story as we stayed in an incredible hotel and toured the towns many historic areas and visited many museums, churches and historical sites.  To get to Uruguay for our Cultural and bike adventure we took at ferry from Buenos Aires to Colonia de Sacramento, Uruguay below 

Colonia is a UNSECO World Heritage Site and on arrival we got our bikes to go for a ride below.  

On average we rode about 20-25 miles per day along gravel roads, back country roads and in the cities on bike paths below

 

          

 

The hotels we stayed in were amazing  like the Carmelo Resort, Sofitel Hotel Estancia Vik and Bahia Vik below wow wow wow

The Carmelo Resort and Spa below was amazing with fine dinning and the biking was great gravel and back roads 

From here we we rode to Montevideo – the capital and stayed in the incredible Sofitel hotel a real palace below

and talk of a great bar in the hotel wow below 

Another great hotel below was  Estancia Vik in Jose Ignacio that overlooked the River below with great sunsets

 

 

 

 

And it offered great horseback riding and polo and kayaking below 

Another fantastic two hotels were the Bahia Vik and the Playa Vik Hotels which were on the ocean with incredible rooms, art work, dinning and kayaking below 

 

 

    

Along the way we visited world famous artists below 

 

 

   

and visited world famous musician Lobo Nunez below

we rode on quiet backroads to the Bodega Cordano, one of the oldest Vineyards in Uruguay where we toured the Vineyard below

 

 

 and later we were transferred to Carmelo Punta Gorda for a cruise on the river Rio de la Plata below

Another day day we visited the amazing Casapeublo Museum with incredible world of art perched on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic.

 

Along the way we had incredible meals in the fine hotels and restaurants photos below below

 

We also had cooking classes below with a world class cheff

And we enjoyed sitting around the fire pit listening to great music during cocktail hour below 

the views at sunset were amazing below 

At the end of the trip we visited the private Country Club that my mother visited on her 44 day cruise of South America during Carnival called ” Cantegril Country Club and it offers its members: 10 tennis courts, Golf, 3 swimming pools, fine dinning, workout rooms and card rooms and it is awesome and photos below
