Epic Bike Race

This was a serious mountain bike race, part of the Epic Series and called the 4 Islands Croatia.

I went with Charlie, Brandy, Mike below

and Simon and Chris below

We landed and left from Zagreb and please see the post on Zagreb as it is historical, beautiful and amazing. The 4 Islands Bike race was held over 5 days on the islands of: Baska, Ray, Osor and M. Losinj with  Baska having two races: the prologue and stage one. We lived on Yachts that were docked in the center of the small historical beautiful towns.  See the cruise section of Croatia for more detail. Rather than breaking down each day, I will show tell the story from the terrain point of view as the terrain was similar on the islands meaning I will break this down by: paved, dirt and single track and shots of the beginning and end of race with some town shots. I did not race the 4th day as it rained and on the second day I had had to shorten the ride as I had a flat in which I had to walk for one hour.  The next day I had three flats but completed it in full.  The reasons for the flats are very sharp rocks.  We arrived in BAska and took our bikes to the dock to the yachts: Charlie, Brandy and Mike below and the yachts and food were fantastic below

From here we had a day to relax but we started the race with a prologue and stage one from Baska.  So everyday was somewhat similar and rather than breaking it down per day here are shots as we were to start

on some of the portions we rode on the sidewalk of the small towns
