I visited Zagreb during my 4 island mountain bike race in Croatia and Zagreb is an amazing town that I highly recommend you to visit. It got its start as two towns overlooking the Sava river and it is distiguished by its 18th and 19th century Austrian-Hungarian architecture.  There are many churches and two of them are incredible the twin spired Zagreb Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary which is incredible below . 

 

Then there is the incredible 13th Century Saint Marks Church below 

There is the National Theater below  

 

and art  pavilion below  

King Tomislav Square below

 

and I saw an incredible performance by performers dancing through the streets below  

I walked the historic sections and there was great wine and dinning below 

 

At noon or one PM everyday there was a cannon at the top of a hill in a tall tower that was discharged and here is the photo of the canyon below
