Serbia
550We were awakened in Belgrade, capital of Serbia. We saw the place where the “Tomahawk Missels” blew up the Military command. Then we proceeded to take a guided walk through the grounds of Kalemegdan Fortress, now a stately park below
; also see the Orthodox cathedral and stop at the Square of the Republic below.
We also explored Belgrade’s gracious architecture and visited a few museums, like the Nikola Tesla Museum as well as visiting a famous art colony and violin maker in the town of Kavacica
On the way to Belgrade we passed through the Iron Gate, Serbia/Romania
During our cruise we enjoyed traveling through one of the most picturesque areas of the Lower Danube and the is the “Iron Gates” and is one of Europe’s most dramatic natural wonders,
a spectacular narrow gorge with enormous white limestone cliffs
